Approximately 20,000 key customers in HoReCa and independent retail, as well as small and medium businesses and government representatives will gather at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center in Moscow from April 4 till 6 for the METRO EXPO 2017. This major exhibition, organized by METRO Russia and held for the seventh time, is considered a unique business venue for sharing professional experience, as well as for establishing dialog between small and medium business representatives, suppliers, manufacturers, and representatives of government authorities from various regions of Russia.
The concept of METRO EXPO is changed every year to suit the needs of METRO's customers. Therefore, in 2017, the company has increased the exhibition area by 20 percent and presents two "universes" – one for the hotel, restaurant and catering business and one for small traders. METRO EXPO 2017 also means: 20,000 visitors and over 4,000 exclusive product offers from major suppliers, as well as over 350 booths of participating companies, federal and local suppliers. This year’s exhibition’s main focus is on the presence of bar and wine industry representatives. In addition, over 750 forums, trainings, seminars, and educational programs from representatives of the hospitality industry, small and medium retail, banking and public sectors, as well as international experts will be offered and IT solutions presented. METRO EXPO also highlights the "Fasol" franchising program. 205 stores are currently open under the "Fasol" brand in various regions of Russia, with a focus on development in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
The key events of METRO EXPO 2017 will be the 1st All-Russia Caviste Championship, Bar Event, Chef’s Day, and All-Russia Open Culinary Cup Chef à la Russe, which is going to be held for the fourth time this year. Chef à la Russe is supported by the Russian Culinary Association and the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS). The qualifying rounds were held throughout the country with the support of METRO Cash & Carry. The championship jury includes renowned foreign and Russian WACS-accredited international judges and is headed by WACS President Gissur Gudmundsson and Russian Culinary Association President Victor Belyaev.
