The METRO GROUP Marathon Düsseldorf changes its name to METRO Marathon Düsseldorf: the 15th edition of the running event will in future be hosted under a new name. The new logo and new website will already make their appearance now, the athletes will follow on 30 April 2017. That is when the marathon starting gun will be fired for the numerous professional and amateur marathon runners and company relay teams who will this year again join the competition and set new personal bests.
The reason for the name change: the demerger of METRO GROUP into two new and strong entities planned for this summer. The future METRO will be the new name sponsor of the marathon – that is the reason why also the official name of the marathon, its logo and the entire visual appearance will change.
