Good Deeds Day: Vocational trainees engage in projects for the youth organisation of the German Red Cross

Those who enjoy fresh waffles are not only giving themselves a treat: across Germany, some 800 vocational trainees from METRO GROUP and the sales lines METRO Cash & Carry and Real raise funds on the annual “Good Deeds Day” in June. The money collected will be used to support projects of the youth organisation of the German Red Cross.

Efforts for protecting the oceans

Rising sea levels, plastic waste, overfishing - the oceans are in danger. For five days, the first UN conference in New York focused exclusively on the protection of the oceans. The participating States and 48 companies, including METRO, signed the "Tuna 2020 Traceability Declaration" at the very beginning of the conference, to further strengthen traceability and sustainability in tuna fishing.

Rating agency S&P confirms investment grade rating for future METRO

The international rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) has confirmed an investment grade rating for the future METRO Wholesale and Food specialist and has set the previously preliminary rating of BBB- / A-3 with a stable outlook from last December to final, following the positive decision by the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf (Oberlandesgericht).
