German stock-listed companies are obligated by the German securities trading law (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz) to immediately publish heretofore non-public information, which upon announcement could materially affect METRO AG's share or market price. This leads to so-called Ad hoc Announcements according to §15 of the aforementioned law. Ad hoc Announcements set out to inform all market participants equally.
