Carbon footprint

A company's carbon footprint covers all greenhouse emissions generated by business activities. The accounting is done under a defined standard like ISO 14064 or the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The carbon footprint of METRO GROUP covers greenhouse-gas emissions from energy and paper usage, refrigerant leaks, truck logistics and business travel. It does not consider the environmental impact of products from the sales divisions' extensive assortments or logistics associated with customer deliveries. The carbon footprint shows both the total amount of greenhouse- gas emissions and the company's carbon efficiency - as measured by kilogrammes of CO2 per square metre of selling space. cbi:///cms/181029
