<summary>On 28 January 2012, METRO GROUP opened its third company daycare center for children on the Duesseldorf Campus. The Lord Mayor of Duesseldorf, Dirk Elbers, and Metro’s CHRO Heiko Hutmacher celebrated the inauguration of the new "Metro Sternchen III" with around 200 guests. Starting from 1 February, 96 bilingual kindergarten places for children aged between 4 months and 6 years will be available here – thereby increasing the total number of daycare places to around 240.</summary>

<title>Kaufhof concept store U.Style Fashion receives award for store design</title>

<summary>The concept store U.Style Fashion on Marienplatz in Munich has been awarded the EuroShop Retail Design Award in New York. This award honours the top three store concepts in the world. The distinction is presented by the EHI Retail Institute from Cologne together with Messe Düsseldorf. The international jury selected the three winners from a total of more than 70 entries from 19 countries. The selection criteria are a great design, a clear assortment message, an unequivocal addressing of the target group and an excellent corporate design. The other two winners are Moscow’s premium department store Tsvetnoy Central Market and the Uniqlo fashion store in Shanghai.</summary>

On 16 January 2012, the company launched its online shop, where customers can shop around the clock 365 days of the year. The particular advantage for customers is that the new online offering will be closely linked with the 244 Media Markt stores located throughout Germany. Customer can enjoy the advantages offered by both fixed-location and online retailing, combining the two as their own individual needs dictate.</summary>
